Sweet Crisis are a contemporary Rock band from Cambridge, UK, and best describe their music as “funky riff based guitars, soulful catchy melodies and sexy heavy beats”! The band have worked tirelessly to translate the visceral energy of their live show into a cohesive record, that will have you singing along to every track, playing air drums whilst stuck in traffic and most importantly dancing around your kitchen. Crisis consists of Leo Robarts (vocals), Piers Mortimer (guitar) and Dave Cullen (drums). This live album was recorded at "The Junction" in Cambridge 2017.

Milky Way Gas Station

"Somewhere / Anywhere" is the title of the debut-album by Milky Way Gas Station, a progressive rockband from the Netherlands.

Fans of Pink Floyd, Steven Wilson and other progressive artists will definitely embrace the group's musical diversity, ranging from straight-in-your-face rock guitars to quiet synth-filled atmospheric songs.
This work features musical input from keyboardists Joakim Svalberg (Opeth) and Jan Peter Bast (The Scene), and background vocals by Lana Wolf and Sanne Jonges.

Sun Q

Playing a fuzzed up brand of stoner-meets-garage-meets-psychedelic, Sun Q sound like they would be part of the new breed of Nordic bands rapidly gaining a following, but instead of Norway, Finland, Sweden etc, they are actually from Russia, Moscow to be precise. If Sun Q are an example of what the Russian rock scene is like, then it truly is an untapped market. This is a strong debut album, the sound of a band ready to sprout wings and make a big noise on the scene.

The Werks

On their latest album, Magic, melodic visionaries The Werks transcend their funk rock roots while never losing their identity. Poignant songwriting and engaging improvisation come together on a record that showcases their maturation as a multidimensional group of uniquely creative musicians. A rare jewel of a record; Magic is muse put to tape, a direct download of the creative spark.

And for the proggers worldwide...check this outstanding live cover version of a well known album.

Long Earth

Long Earth's music is firmly based in classic progressive rock with influences from the best of 80s/90s rock and pop.
"The Source" is the first album from the band.

For All We Know

For All We Know is a project by Within Temptation guitarist Ruud Jolie. He has recorded a lot of songs and albums with other artists, but the urge to write and record his own material has always been present. Let’s get one thing straight: "Take Me Home" sounds nothing like Within Temptation. It it, however, a cohesive collection of 12 uplifting and melodic prog rock/metal tunes with hints of Von Hertzen Brothers and Headspace.

Vedalia

Vedalia from Örnsköldsvik, Sweden, hails with their progressive metal debut album "Radiance" which was released September 8, 2017.

Professor Tip Top

Professor Tip Top from Bergen, Norway, is a group playing fine progressive music with a retro sound and lysergic touch, which serves a very psychedelic aura. The songs are partly melodic with vocals, while adding longer instrumental parts of guitar, analogue sequencers, vintage synths and keyboards in between. Inspiration and influences are the 60'/70's versions of Gong, Yes, Pink Floyd, and the Canterbury scene. The band started in 2011, but the members are veterans with a musical background starting in the early 70's. "Life Is No Matter" is their fourth album so far...

Drifting Sun

UK proggers Drifting Sun hails with their latest album "Twilight".

Robert Reed

Multi-instrumentalist and producer Robert Reed (Magenta / Kompendium / Kiama / Chimpan A) hails with two brilliant releases in 2017 so far.
DVD/CD "Sanctuary Live" was recorded at Reed's performance of his two Mike Oldfield-inspired albums under the Sanctuary banner at Peter Gabriel's Real World studios.

Also available will be Reed's "Variations On A Theme By David Bedford", his tribute to the late musician and composer who originally orchestrated Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, as well as working with Kevin Ayers and who released several albums under his own name.

Leprous

“Malina” (2017) is the fifth studio album by Norway’s groundbreaking modern rock/metal group Leprous.

The stunning hour-long effort was recorded in Sweden by David Castillo / Ghostward Studios and mixed by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios (Opeth, Devin Townsend, Katatonia). “Malina” is set to be a change in direction in more ways than one. Right away, you can see that the cover art is more colourful and mysterious than in the past. The album itself has been nothing short of a labor of love. It took 4 times as many days in the studio to record as past albums, as the band was certain that the sound they wanted would be found in the recording studio, and not in a digital mask that would be applied during the mixing stage. “We wanted it to sound like it sounded”, the band comments. “We did not want to "digitalise" the sound. This album needs to sound more alive, more organic and more dynamic. The longer into the process the more obsessed we got with this idea”. The result is a milestone in the band’s history and one of the most fascinating progressive albums you will hear this year!
